Dr. Johnson stepped up when my usual vet was unable to help. 18 year old cat with kidney disease and a long history of constipation. He had had several disimpactions previously and our regular vet didn’t have any openings. Dr. Johnson was willing to see him first thing in the morning and she was able to get him cleaned out and comfortable with minimal stress. Her price was 1/4 of what we would have paid at the urgent care vet. Then she came up with an innovative combination of prescription food, medications, and supplements to try to get him on a good routine. It has been nearly six months and he is on a consistent schedule with no constipation. We are so grateful for the extra time with our cat and the kindness from Dr. Johnson and her staff. My very old kitty with kidney disease was terribly constipated and desperately needed a kitty enema. Dr.Johnson and her team were absolute champs. They got me in right before their closing time on a Saturday (most vets would’ve turned me away) and gave him perfect care. He’s in a very fragile balance, and they addressed the constipation situation in a gentle way that was minimally disruptive to all of the other health issues I am managing for him. A trip to the ER would have been so expensive and so stressful, and they took care of his GI situation economically and efficiently. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for the care they gave us today and how impressed I am with their knowledge and compassion. This Vet really understands senior animal care in a way that is usually just reserved for Veterinary internists.

Dr Johnson and her entire staff are the most personable and warmest vet and staff you’ll ever want to meet. We looked at a lot of vet practices to choose for our miny long haired dachshund Oscar. We moved to Fairfax Virginia in April and after searching several animal hospitals/clinics we found our forever vet practice. Dr. Johnson and the rest of the staff at Jermantown Animal Hospital are amazing! We’re taking our rescue beagle, Biscuit, there for heartworm treatment. Dr. Johnson answered all of our questions in a very clear and concise way, and all of the staff were exceptional in making Biscuit feel safe (with plenty of treats). Scheduling, payment, and everything administrative was also a breeze. We could not recommend them more!
